Located about 40 minutes from the state capital Maceió, the municipality of Barra de São Miguel, in Alagoas, manages to keep the tranquillity of its beaches until today. Most tourists go there to see the cliffs of Carro Quebrado beach, a cinematographic scenery. Coconut trees, emerald-green sea and the famous multicoloured cliffs outline the whole length of the beach. It is a fantastic place to take a buggy ride or a long walk admiring all its tranquillity. During high tide, the extensive sandy stretch of Carro Quebrado Beach is covered by the sea waters.
